How Motorhouse of Shipley Moved Seamlessly to the Cloud

CHALLENGES

Motorhouse of Shipley, a family owned car dealership in Shipley, Yorkshire, came to Pavilion to discuss the need to provide more efficient and secure document sharing across their team.


Motorhouse were running a local server to run Microsoft Outlook and to store files and folders for the team to access. With all the company’s data on one on-premise server there was the risk that it was not adequately backed up and that it was becoming labour intensive to manage.

RESULTS

Following consultation with the Pavilion team, Motorhouse decided to deploy the Microsoft 365 suite on all devices to include their entire staff of directors, sales reps and administrators.


Microsoft OneDrive has facilitated quick and easy access for all essential documentation, and the recently viewed documents feature is popular with the team to quickly access the most heavily used files. The ability to quickly access any document from any device is also proving useful with sales reps able to quickly access specs and pricing on the showroom floor.


From a security standpoint, Motorhouse also chose Mimecast email security to protect emails, data and internet access from potential compromise. It was also an important step for Motorhouse to have customers’ personal and financial information protected and archived for the purposes of GDPR compliance.


Mimecast’s filtering of unknown and suspect emails and web links also provides an extra layer of peace of mind for avoiding ransomware and malware attacks and other forms of cyber threat.

Motorhouse of Shipley is a family-owned business that was established in 1993 when the founding company 'Budget Car Sales' was re-named upon its move to the current Leeds Road, Shipley premises. The business was built on the back of the Gti/Sri/16v boom of the 1980s and 90s. Through hard work and a strong commitment to customers' requirements, Motor House has grown steadily to become established as one of the north's premier Sports and Prestige retail outlets.
