Why is your company such a great place to work?

Pavillion are based in Sussex and Yorkshire, and boast a 30+ year pedigree as data and IT managed services specialists. During this time we have built strong client relationships through a culture of exceptional customer service and expert knowledge.

Since incorporation in Brighton in 1988, Our business has grown to more than 40 employees across multiple offices and Data Centres in the UK. Our objective is to deliver our customers IT certainty, support organisational productivity, improve IT security and free up their time to focus on the strategic IT future needs of their business, and our recent recognition as a Top IT Managed Service Company in the UK by Clutch underlines this achievement.

What do you think makes it stand out from your peers?

Pavillion has been growing in a variety of ways in recent years. In late 2018 we acquired Datanics, an acquisition which has given us more than 45,000 end users within our >250 installed customers across the UK. In late August last year, we also merged with Sheffield-based P2 Technologies. This strategic move has allowed us to cement our expertise even further in the legal and accountancy sectors, aligning our skills with our customers’ business goals and IT strategies.

In addition to this, the pandemic has seen our existing customers drawing on our expertise more than ever as they adapt to new ways of working, transition to cloud, and execute other organisational changes. We are already seeing some great results from these expansions, and our entire organisation is invigorated to help our customers achieve even more in 2022!

How did you keep staff motivated during challenging times?

Because our team are so closely knit, they are highly driven without needing to be motivated. The friendly, consultative relationships we have with our customers also helps, with many enjoying meals, social events and even weddings with their clients.

We also socialise a lot together – from team barbeques to go karting, football and kite flying competitions, the team never shy away from some fast-paced fun!

Our staff and customers also enjoy experiences such as the Come Dine with PAV events in which we all escape to locations such as the Yorkshire Dales to savour the outdoors and some fine food.

Pavilion Team

How has your workplace changed over the past year – what are you doing differently as a result of the pandemic? Will this continue?

Our team are driven to help their customers wherever they are working. Although we have enjoyed our return to the office, we have always offered flexible working arrangements, even before the pandemic, and this will definitely continue!

How does your company culture help generate results?

In addition to the excellent consultative and technical skills of the sales, PAV also have a national team of service delivery professionals that help our customers with IT support and monitoring, project delivery, cloud services, backup and disaster recovery, and application packaging services.

As attested by our proud portfolio of customer testimonials, our ability to listen and understand our clients’ specific technology challenges allows us to deliver IT support services and solutions to companies of all sizes across the UK. Our customers trust us to optimise their IT infrastructures to boost productivity, maintain high levels of network security and free up their time to focus on their business.

How does your company empower staff to do their jobs better?

Our team put a big focus on their skills, and we not only meet but surpass our vendor accreditation requirements.

As part of our vendor partnerships, the team combined to achieve sales, technical and marketing accreditations with over 23 vendors, in addition to participating in various sales workshops and best practice sharing. Most recently we have achieved our Cisco Networking Specialisation, and Microsoft CSP Tier 1 status.

Our specific qualifications include:

  • Commvault – Authorised Service Partner
  • Cisco Select, Express Cloud and managed services certified
  • Sophos Gold reseller and MSP Connect Flex Partner
  • Dell Authorised Partner
  • Mimecast MSP
  • WatchGuard Gold
  • Microsoft Silver for small and midmarket cloud solutions

How are you addressing diversity/the gender pay gap/skills gap in the industry? Are there any particular campaigns you are running in your company? Please explain.

The whole PAV team is built on a shared responsibility to be an equal opportunity employer, with an accountable, open, helpful and friendly culture to create the working environment that makes our business so successful. We also invest heavily in staff training and development.

We welcome applications from talented people as our business grows and more and more customers come on board from all over the UK. Being qualified is only part of what we’re looking for – it’s about attitude, team spirit and determination to contribute to a growing business that truly makes candidates stand out.

On Glassdoor.co.uk, we have a rating of 4.6/5 stars from 14 staff testimonials, with 94% of ex-staff indicating they would be happy to refer a friend.

Can you give examples of CSR or environmental activities?

We love and feel responsible for the environment we work in, and what better place to start than our office! So when we were looking for the perfect office, the carbon negative Bullhouse Mill just made perfect sense.  At the time of conversion it was one of only 14 A-rated commercial buildings and achieves a more than 50% reduction in electricity and heating energy consumption. The site includes geothermal heating, heat recovery, low energy lighting, cycle scheme and showers, 280kW Solar, 15kW hydro generator and 3x 11kW Gaia wind turbines.

We are also fully committed to being carbon-neutral by 2028 as part of Techies Go Green movement

PAV joins the community of organisations who are aiming to become carbon-neutral by 2030 at the latest. Techies Go Green enables each member to purposefully improve their energy efficiency by collaborating and sharing practical know-how.
